This summer, Emma Cartwright, Lysander’s Administrative Assistant, is planning a very special 100km walk in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK. The 100km includes a 25km night walk from Guildford to Dorking on 14th July and The Jurassic Coast Challenge which is a 58km walk from Poole to Weymouth on 21st July. That leaves Emma with a further 17km to organise!
The charity is very close to Emma’s heart as last year she lost her Mum to a rare form of early onset Alzheimer’s called Benson’s Syndrome. This is the same form of Alzheimer’s that Terry Pratchett had, however in Emma’s Mum’s case, she was only 46 when she started to display signs of something being wrong and only 53 when she died.
